FAQs

Please reach out to Olivia if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Semi-permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattooing technique that deposits pigment into the skin to enhance facial features. It is a long-lasting alternative to traditional makeup, offering convenience and natural-looking results.

Permanent makeup can save time, enhance features, and boost confidence. It is especially beneficial for people with busy lifestyles, vision impairments, or conditions that affect hair growth.

Common areas for permanent makeup include eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. However, other areas such as scalp, areola, and beauty marks can also be tattooed.

The healing process typically takes 7-14 days, depending on the area tattooed and the individual's healing process. During this time, the tattooed area may scab, itch, and flake as it heals.

The longevity of semi-permanent makeup varies depending on individual factors like skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare, but it generally lasts between 1 to 3 years.

While some discomfort may be experienced, topical anesthetics are typically used to minimize pain during the procedure. The sensation is often compared to tweezing or threading.

Risks can include infection, bruising, bleeding, pigment implantation issues, and allergic reactions. A patch test is usually conducted to minimize allergic reactions

Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have certain skin conditions (like eczema or psoriasis), or have specific medical conditions (like blood disorders or keloid scarring) are generally not suitable candidates. It's essential to consult with a practitioner and your doctor if you have any concerns.

The colour of your eyebrows and lips will be darker and more vibrant straight after your treatment. As your skin heals over the next 7-14 days, the colour may reduce by up to 50%. Any redness will fade within a few hours.

You can wear makeup straight after but you need to avoid the brow area. Your skin will need to heal for up to two weeks before any makeup in this area to avoid infection and interfere with the healing process.

At your second appointment we will review to see how your skin has held on to the pigment. This appointment is important as we will add any further pigment to areas that may have been lost during the healing process.

Semi-permanent makeup is a process. The colour of your brows and lips will be up to 50% darker once your treatment is done.

The colour for brows and lips will disappear initially as they heal and the true colour will show 6 weeks after your treatment.
